ASCE issues 2013 Report Card, gives nation a D+
In a much anticipated release, ASCE’s 2013 Report Card for America's Infrastructure was released on Tuesday, March 19, in Washington, D.C. The overall grade of D+, up from D in 2009, reflects steps in the right direction in several categories, notably in bridges, rail, and solid waste. It is the first time since ASCE started producing Reports Cards in 1998 that the grades rose overall and in several sectors. Read More
In the California’s Infrastructure Report Card, California’s infrastructure received a grade of C, up from C- from 2006. Improvements can be observed in several categories: aviation, ports, and transportation. The low grades in the water and environment sectors still indicate a need for further enhancement. Levees/flood control are much improved, with this sector now receiving a passing grade. Read More
