President’s Message
Welcome to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Orange County Younger Member Forum (OC YMF)! For those who are new to our organization, OC YMF aims to help Younger Members grow professionally and serves both the profession and the community!
I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the OC YMF President for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year. I look forward to continuing my contribution to this awesome organization alongside so many great individuals.
Over the years, my experience with OC YMF has been a great one! I appreciate all of the friendships I have made, the opportunities for personal and professional growth, and the ability to have a positive impact on the community. I definitely recommend getting involved!
About Our ASCE OC YMF Leaders & Events
I am very proud of our outstanding board, composed of the following committees: Communications, Community Outreach, External Activities, Internal Activities, K-12 Outreach, and University Outreach. I am joined on the Executive Board by Past-President Ashlyn Alexander of Parsons, President-Elect Tyler Hodges of Mark Thomas, Treasurer JR Lagade of Black & Veatch, and Secretary Megan Godinez of the City of LA Bureau of Engineering. In the “About” and “Committees” tabs, you can find more information about our team, member spotlights, and additional resources.
Our wide range of committees provides plenty of opportunities to get involved! General Board meetings are a great opportunity to build connections within the organization and get a better idea of what committees you may be interested in joining. OC YMF hosts these every third Wednesday of the month and all are welcome! If you would like to keep updated with all things OC YMF, please sign up to receive our newsletter below.
Our Goals for Fiscal Year 2022-2023
OC YMF has done a great job continuing to stay active throughout the pandemic and we are excited for the return of many in person events. OC YMF ensures that our in person events implement safety protocols within the framework of Federal, State, and local requirements.
Due to the hybrid working environment we have all come to experience, OC YMF has revamped our General Board Meetings to be hybrid as well. We have incorporated both virtual and in person meetings to reach a broader audience and allow for continued flexibility.
Our goal for the year is to foster an environment where all feel welcome and are given the opportunity to grow personally. To accomplish this, we are focused on giving back to all of our members and engaging a diverse audience. OC YMF will be hosting a wide range of events including workshops, socials, community service and so much more.
We are excited to continue expanding our team and hope that you accept our invitation to take a chance with OC YMF! We look forward to another year of celebrating our members, growing future leaders, and contributing to the community.
