BOARD MEMBERS

Alex is a Water Staff Engineer at AECOM in Orange. He has experience with various Surface Water Projects including Floodwalls, Storm Drain, and Dams and Reservoirs. Alex graduated from University of California, Irvine, with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an emphasis in Water Resources in 2023.

In college, Alex served as Professional Outreach cabinet member and External Vice President for the ASCE UCI Student Chapter. After graduating, Alex has been involved in OC YMF to expand his network and contribute his experiences and knowledge for both personal and engineering communities. Alex’s hobbies include: tennis, pickleball, watching engineering YouTube videos, and he is hoping to learn some golf.

Blake is a Civil Analyst practicing roadway design at Kimley-Horn in Orange. he graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2022.

Blake was a student member of ASCE and led Cal Poly's Pacific Southwest Symposium Transportation Technical Team in 2022 and stayed active in the student chapter volunteering for many events such as concrete canoe casting days, community outreach, and creating weekly newsletters. Blake joined OC YMF to promote the civil engineering profession and to learn from others in the profession.

Brian currently works at Tetra Tech in their Irvine, California office. Previously, he interned at the Irvine Ranch Water District.

Brian is passionate about wastewater treatment and the sustainability of water, as clean water is one of the most important resources that is at risk in the coming future. As such, he would like to be a part of the solution in preserving clean water and spreading accessibility of it as his career.

Brian currently serves as the UCI Liaison with ASCE OC YMF. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering at UC Irvine in 2026. He was an active student member and served as the ASCE UCI Student Chapter's External Vice President.

Daniel is a Staff Engineer at Geocon West, Inc. located in Irvine, CA. He is currently pursuing a M.S. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering at CSUF. He is passionate about geotechnical engineering and enjoys sharing industry insights with students as they prepare for their engineering careers.

With ASCE OC YMF, Daniel currently serves as the CSU Fullerton Practitioner Advisor. He helps bridge the gap between academia and industry by supporting student engagement, professional development, and mentorship opportunities. He is committed to fostering the growth of future engineers and strengthening connections between college and industry.

Hafsa is a Quality Engineer at FieldAI and currently serves as CSUF Liaison with ASCE OC YMF. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Fullerton in 2025.

As a student, she served as the CSUF ASCE Internal Vice President and has participated in multiple project teams for PSWS.

Jonathan is a Designer III at LPA. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2022.

With ASCE OC YMF, Jonathan serves as the University Outreach Co-Chair, helping connect students with industry professionals through outreach, mentorship, and networking opportunities. He is committed to professional growth, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting the next generation of engineers.

Kevin is a 2024 UC Irvine graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering and now works as a Design Engineer at MiTek in Mission Viejo, CA.

While at UC Irvine, he was active in the ASCE student chapter, serving on the Cabinet and competing on the Concrete Canoe team. He’s excited to be part of the ASCE YMF committee and to work with his peers to create a welcoming, supportive community for young engineers.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys fitness and has a big passion for musical theatre.

Laisha is a Civil Designer at Zephyr Rail’s Orange, CA office. She supports rail and roadway projects by preparing design plans, geometric layouts, and technical drawings that contribute to early‑stage engineering and coordinated project development. Her work helps advance deliverables for both public and private agencies, ensuring designs are accurate, consistent, and ready for further refinement.

She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2022.

Marionne is a Traffic/ITS Engineer at Jacobs. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2019, and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2023.

Actively involved in ASCE as a student, serving as the 2018-2019 CSULB Co-President, Marionne joined OC YMF to continue to make a difference in her community through civil engineering in hopes of building a brighter future for the next generation. She is passionate about designing and building communities, both structurally and socially. Seeing the organization foster a positive difference in both her personal and professional life inspired her to promote the profession to a broader audience beyond academia. She served as the ASCE OC YMF President for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Marionne enjoys graphic design, hiking, traveling, and anything involving creativity and adventure!

Michelle is a Junior Engineer at Zephyr Rail. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2022. She earned a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) in 2024.

While at both universities, Michelle was actively involved in various student organizations, holding general and board member positions. She previously served as the Chair of the FE/PE Review Committee and is excited to continue contributing and being actively involved in ASCE OC YMF. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, gardening, and collecting houseplants. Michelle also loves to travel and explore different cultures, appreciating their engineering innovations.

Shyam is a Civil Analyst at Kimley-Horn in their Orange office within the Transportation/TPTO team. He graduated from Cal State Long Beach with B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2025. During his time at CSULB, Shyam served as the Vice-President and Outreach Chair for the ASCE Student Chapter at CSULB. In this role, he plans to expand and strengthen the connections between engineering students and the CSULB student chapter with the civil engineering professionals and industry. In his free time, he loves binge watching movies and web series and reading books. He also loves to play golf, tennis, and cricket.

Travis is a person dedicated to life-long learning and self improvement who recognizes that obstacles are actually disguised opportunities for growth and failures are disguised opportunities for education.

Travis' interests include Financial Independence/Retire Early (FIRE), soccer, tennis, MMA, cars, motorcycles, DIY repairs for home and automobile, TSLA, and Bitcoin.

Youssef is a Civil Designer at Zephyr Rail’s Orange, CA office, where he prepares the design plans that support rail and roadway projects. His work includes developing horizontal and vertical alignments and contributing to design packages from 10 percent through 100 percent for UPRR, Metrolink, and other local agencies.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign in 2023.

Alexis is a Transportation Engineer at Caltrans District 8. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Fullerton in 2025.

As a student, she interned at HNTB, Mark Thomas, and Orange County Transportation Authority. Alexis is also involved in multiple professional organizations including ASCE, ITE, and WTS.

Brandon currently serves as UCI Liaison with ASCE OC YMF. He works at AECOM's Orange office in their Water/Wastewater group. As a student, he served as ASCE UCI's Hydraulics Captain for Environmental and Structural Drawing Captain for the Timber Strong Design-Build to compete at the Pacific Southwest Symposium. He has also served as Professional Outreach Chair.

Calista is a Structural Design Engineer at TYLin. She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2022. She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Structural Engineering at UC San Diego. She has always had a curiosity about structural design and analysis, which ultimately led her to pursue structural engineering.

Calista recently got involved with ASCE OC YMF and is passionate about community impact. She loves working alongside motivated individuals and is looking forward to future collaborations within ASCE and other non-profit organizations. In her free time, Calista enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, traveling, playing sports, documenting memories with her Polaroid, and meeting new people!

Don is a Transportation Engineering Associate III at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT). He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2019. Don has been involved in several mentorship programs at UCI and is currently one of the heads of LADOT's mentorship program. He enjoys encouraging the growth of the next generation and helping build their careers in transportation. In his free time, Don likes to travel, try out new restaurants, and read up on history.

Hayde is a Project Engineer at TJW Engineering. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2024.

She became involved with ASCE during her sophomore year at UCI, where she grew from a general member into multiple cabinet roles. Hayde is excited to continue her involvement with ASCE Orange County as a young professional and looks forward to contributing to the growth of the chapter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, exploring new restaurants, doing crafts, and occasionally playing golf.

Jonathan is a Civil Engineering graduate from CSULB with a strong interest in the transportation and traffic discipline. He recently passed the FE exam and will be applying for the EIT credential soon. He is excited to participate in ASCE this year and looks forward to helping out University Outreach in small, yet impactful ways!

Kevin graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2023. He is currently a Design Engineer at Mark Thomas.

During his time at CSULB, he was heavily involved within the CSULB ASCE student chapter where he served as one of the Co-Presidents his senior year and as the membership chair & Timber-Strong Design Build Co-Project manager his junior year. Outside of engineering, Kevin enjoys photography, snowboarding, and traveling.

Manny is a Staff Engineer at Langan and currently works on projects involving nuclear density gauges and piles. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2026.

Manny currently serves as CSULB Liaison with ASCE OC YMF. As a student, he served as the GeoWall Co-Project Manager for the Pacific Southwest Symposium.

Mia earned her degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, in 2025, and currently works as a Roadway Design Engineer at Mark Thomas. As a student, she was involved in the ASCE Cabinet and Pacific Southwest Student Symposium technical projects. As a new board member, her goals include increasing student involvement in YMF and helping to further develop the mentorship academy program. In her free time, Mia enjoys listening to music, watching sports, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.

Philip currently works at Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Previously, he interned at SoCalGas and the City of Santa Ana.

Philip currently serves as the CSUF Practitioner Advisor with ASCE OC YMF. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2025. He was an active student member and served as the ASCE CSUF Student Chapter's Vice President. He was also involved in other professional organizations including ITE, SHPE, and CEMA.

Thy is a Water/Wastewater Engineer at AECOM. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2025. Thy currently serves as CSULB Liaison with ASCE OC YMF. As a student, she served as ASCE CSULB Marketing Chair and Environmental Design Co-Project Manager for the Pacific Southwest Symposium.

Outside of work, Thy loves to macrame and crochet creative pieces!

Tyler graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and works as a Civil Engineer at Parsons. His experience includes work on utilities such as sewer, water, and drainage design, as well as transportation. During his time at UC Irvine, Tyler was heavily involved with expanding his connections with students and faculty as a Resident Advisor in Student Housing.

Besides taking long walks on the beach, Tyler enjoys playing kickball, hanging out with friends, and baking desserts. Tyler is grateful to work with the amazing individuals within OC YMF and the future leaders of the upcoming generation. He served as the ASCE OC YMF President for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Aynslee is a Roadway and Highway Engineer I at HNTB and currently serves as a Professional-At-Large (PAL) with ASCE OC YMF. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach in 2025.

As a student, she served in multiple leadership roles including ASCE CSULB Co-President, Marketing Chair, Steel Bridge Project Manager, and Steel Bridge Fabrication Lead for the Pacific Southwest Symposium.

A fun fact about Aynslee is she has been skydiving!

Brian is a Roadway/Highway Engineer I at HNTB. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).

During his time at CSULB, he was involved in CSULB's student chapter of the ASCE, where he took on the board member positions of conference committee member and fundraising chair. As a board member, Brian aims to support the Long Beach student chapter and further connections between other YMF chapters through different events. In his free time, Brian enjoys running, watching movies, and reading.

Chris graduated from California State University Fullerton with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2024. He currently works as a transportation engineer at Caltrans. His experience includes airport construction, construction management, and traffic operations. During his time at CSUF, he was heavily involved in the ASCE student chapter as the Pacific Southwest Symposium chair, Steel Bridge captain, Transportation team member, and Environmental competition team member.

Chris enjoys playing basketball, collecting Legos, playing video games, traveling, exploring, hiking, and hanging out with friends. Besides these things, Chris is passionate about helping others and is grateful to be surrounded by amazing people who look to do the same.

Elisa is an Associate Engineer at Willdan. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at California State University, Fullerton in 2018. She also received her Master's Degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at California State University, Northridge in 2023.

Jocelyn is a Civil Associate II at Michael Baker International’s Structures Department. She attended California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 2022, and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering in 2025.

During undergrad, Jocelyn served as Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) Co-Chair for the ASCE CSULB Student Chapter. She is now the Internal Activities Co-Chair for ASCE OC YMF.

Karen is a Civil Analyst in Transportation/TPTO at Kimley-Horn in Orange. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2023. As a student, Karen was heavily involved in ASCE since her first year of college and served as the ASCE UCI Student Chapter President in her senior year. Karen joined OC YMF to give back to the community by inspiring students and young professionals. Karen enjoys crocheting, playing badminton and tennis, and trying new foods/boba spots in her free time.

Kyra is a Civil Engineering Associate at LA Department of Water & Power in DTLA working in their Power Engineering Division. Kyra graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Mathematics and is currently pursuing her Masters in Construction Management at USC.

During college, Kyra was heavily involved in the CSULB chapter holding several positions including president and is now serving as the Website Co-Chair. Off the clock, Kyra enjoys building legos, playing Tetris, and traveling.

Marco is a Project Engineer at Clark Construction. Projects he has worked on include the SoFi Stadium FIFA field modifications and LACMA.

Marco Villegas graduated from CSU Northridge with a Bachelors Degree in Applied Mathematics in 2018 and CSU Long Beach with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering in 2022. During his time at Cal State Long Beach, Marco serving Fundraising Chair for their ASCE Chapter. He also served as CSULB Liaison for ASCE OC YMF in 2022-2023. In his free time he enjoys watching soccer, drinking wine and cooking.

Rita is a Project Engineer at Clune and graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).

While at CSULB, she was an active member of the university’s ASCE student chapter, serving on the board as part of the conference committee. She is excited to be involved with ASCE OC YMF this year and in the years to come. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, playing pickleball, and listening to music.

Tomas graduated from California State University Long Beach and currently works as a Project Consultant at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger.

Tomas started his involvement with ASCE OC YMF in 2022 as Internal Activities Co-Chair. He is passionate in helping others develop their professional careers. Tomas is excited to keep meeting new professionals and learning more about the industry, while hosting ASCE OC YMF activities.

Veronica is a Roadway/Highway Engineer I at HNTB. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona (CPP).

During her time at Cal Poly Pomona, she was involved in Associated Schools of Construction (ASC), where she competed as the principal architect in the Design Build event. Veronica currently serves as the webmaster co-chair. In her free time, she enjoys boxing, reading, and snowboarding.
