EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES
The goal of the External Activities Committee is to create opportunities for our members to build meaningful connections with young engineers from other ASCE Branches, YMF groups, and industry organizations. By coordinating shared experiences such as joint ski trips, camping adventures, technical luncheons, and social gatherings, the committee helps members broaden their professional networks while enjoying activities that strengthen camaraderie and collaboration. These events encourage engineers from across Southern California to exchange ideas, share resources, and support one another’s personal and professional growth.
Beyond organizing outings, the committee also works to foster partnerships with regional groups and encourage cross‑chapter engagement that benefits the broader engineering community. We are always excited to explore new collaborations and bring people together through engaging and accessible events. ANNUAL EVENTS
AMUSEMENT PARK SUMMER EVENT
With Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain within driving distance to Orange County, we partner with local Younger Member Groups to spend a summer day in an amusement park to eat food, go on rides, and have fun!
BEACH DAY & BONFIRE
In partnership with ASCE Orange County Student Chapters, student and younger members enjoy a nice beach day, bonfire, and BBQ at Bolsa Chica State Beach to play games, network, and hangout!
COLLABORATION EVENTS WITH PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
In collaboration with other professional organization groups across Orange County and Southern California, we host a variety of events ranging between social and technical events. This effort includes speaker series, technical tours, and social mixers.
MAMMOTH TRIP
In partnership with ASCE Los Angeles Section YMF Groups, members enjoy the snow and slopes at the beautiful Mammoth Mountain! The winter season is celebrated with activities such as snow tubing, snowshoeing, skiing, and snowboarding!
