ASCE OC Community Service: LBACS Pet Literacy

Join us for our ASCE OC Community Service Committee's Pet Literacy Event at Long Beach Animal Care Services (LBACS)! This volunteer experience gives you the opportunity to help shelter dogs feel more relaxed, supported, and comforted through the simple act of reading.

We’ll begin by meeting outside the facility, where you’ll receive a brief introduction and overview of the program. After that, we’ll head inside together to begin reading to the dogs in the shelter, helping them socialize, de‑stress, and feel more at ease while they wait for their new homes.

Parking Information:

The LBACS facility shares the same entrance as the El Dorado Nature Center.

When you arrive at the parking booth, let the staff know you’re volunteering, so you are not charged for parking. The booth staff can also direct you to the LBACS area if needed.
