On Saturday, July 12th, ASCE Orange County and San Bernardino-Riverside (SBR) Younger Member Forum members came together for a great morning of beach cleaning at Long Beach. Upon arrival, Recycle for Veterans had members huddle and an Eco Warrior brief everyone on the route and safety instructions for the day. Once the briefing finished, members broke off in small groups to target different areas of the beach. Members mentioned some great trash finds - one found a nail polish bottle, while another found Legos and takeout containers amongst all the microplastics!

After the beach cleanup, the good vibes kept rolling as some members headed over to Manaow Thai Restaurant for a joint social with the Orange County and San Bernardino-Riverside Younger Member Forums. Just a short drive from the pier, the spot served up delicious Thai appetizers and dishes that were perfect for sharing. Laughter filled the air, conversations flowed easily, and new connections were made over tasty bites. All in all, it was a fantastic day of giving back and having fun—definitely a successful cleanup and social event!

Many thanks again to Bechtel and US Pipe for their support and for sponsoring this event! Check out more photos from the event below!
