ASCE OC Newsletter: 1985-2022 Archive

Updated: Sep 30

With the 2024 ASCE Orange County Website Update, our Publications and Website Committees created archived copies of our newsletters published before January 2023. They are saved in Google Folders linked below.

Archives of our Newsletters are meant to:

  • Preserve Our History: Archives preserve ASCE newsletters that provide evidence of our past and help us understand our society.

  • Support Research: Archives provide primary sources for research in many areas, including scholarly, administrative, and personal research.

  • Ensuring Accountability: Archives help ensure that ASCE and other institutions are accountable to their members.

  • Supporting Rights: Archives support the rights of individuals, organizations, and states by providing evidence of past ASCE events and programs.

  • Preserving Cultural Heritage: Archives help preserve cultural heritage and identity.

  • Increasing Understanding: Archives help us understand individuals, institutions, cultures, and more throughout ASCE OC history.

About the Author:

The ASCE Orange County Publications Committee, led by Marionne Lapitan (Publications Chair/Newsletter Editor-In-Chief), coordinates articles with ASCE OC technical institutes and committees. They are responsible for reviewing and organizing the collected articles to publish the official ASCE OC bi-monthly newsletters.

The committee is looking for volunteers! Do you appreciate documenting the legacy of ASCE and being connected to our key members? Being a part of the Publications Committee is an excellent opportunity to learn the process and broaden your contacts. We are looking for individuals to volunteer about 2-3 hours per month to assist in uploading newsletter articles, tracking our events, and learning our internal management software.
