On Saturday, June 13th, ASCE OC YMF hosted the third-annual pickleball tournament at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Long Beach. The event hosted 15 teams, who played doubles with each other, advancing based on scores. In between sets, participants enjoyed refreshments to recharge.
Through much friendly competition, the tournament narrowed down to 4 teams, two going for the semifinals and two going for the finals. In the end, the reigning champs came out on top, with Brian Funo & Paul Liu as third place, Cayla Bohrer & Tyler Hodges as second place, and Javier Felix & Jorge Felix as first place! We also held a raffle, to give away merch from The Rally Shop - with Karen Luong and Travis Antonissen as our winners! Congratulations to all the winners and thank you so much to all who participated, from the players, spectators, organizers, and sponsors alike!
The benefitting charities are as follow:
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (50% of proceeds)
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (30% of proceeds)
World Central Kitchen (20% of proceeds).
All following charities were awarded $40 per team:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (x2)
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
New Incentive
Christy's Foundation
World Central Kitchen (x2)
Young Center for Immigrant Children's Right
CHOC Foundation
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights
This event would not be possible without the generous support and donations of our 2026 Event Sponsors! A huge thank you to The Rally Shop, Kimley-Horn, CWE, Jacobs, and APWA Southern California!
Your support goes a long way to impacting the chosen charities! We can't wait to see you all at next year's event!
