ASCE OC President's Column: FY2026 Quarter 4 Update

As my term as President of the ASCE Orange County Branch comes to an end on September 30, 2026, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers, sponsors, and event attendees for making this a fantastic year! I will always remember my time as President fondly, and appreciate the amazing people and great events that make this Branch such a first-rate organization.

Jenny Robinet (PACE) will be taking over as President on October 1, 2026, and will be supported by some familiar faces. Alahesh Thurairajah (Earth Mechanics) will be moving from the Secretary position to President-Elect, and will take over President from Jenny the following year. Steven Anderson (Kimley-Horn) will be moving from the Treasurer to the Secretary position. Greg Sebourn (Cannon) will be joining the Branch Board as our new Treasurer, but has been actively involved in ASCE Orange County Branch for many years (including serving as the Chair of the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute).

I will be moving into the Past-President role and am excited to continue to support the Branch and our Institutes/Committees in my new role. As Past-President, one of my primary responsibilities will be to organize our Annual Awards Night that will likely be hosted in May 2027. Once we have confirmed the date and the venue, we will be emailing our database – likely around the end of February – requesting award nominations for people and projects so please be on the lookout for that notification.

Our annual History & Heritage / Student Scholarship Night is approaching quickly! Jenny has been leading the charge on organizing that event and the theme this year will be Disney. It will be hosted at the Delta Hotels Anaheim-Garden Grove from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, starting with a Career Fair and networking opportunities. The dinner program will take place from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, which will include the distribution of scholarships and student chapter presentations.
